Songwriter Michael Cardenas is no stranger to the wandering life of a musician. In fact, he may have as many wild stories as any seasoned rock star. As a tour bus driver and assistant for pop divas, rock legends and tech moguls alike, Michael has spent a decade (and countless miles) surrounded by talent and inspiration. It didn't take long for him to start writing his own lyrics, to channel his experiences and pass the long night drives alone. Along the way, he met producer Simon Illa in Philadelphia, and they began putting music to the words and melodies he had. The music reflects his love of pop, r&b, and rock: artists like Savage Garden, Lenny Kravitz, and The Fray, to name a few.
A self-confessed romantic, Michael's songs chronicle losses and gains in love: the struggle to stay connected over long distances, staying devoted in a world of distractions, and the longing for roots while constantly in motion. Universal themes, filtered through the unique perspective of life on the road. Writing and recording consistently over these years, Michael has accumulated a sizable catalog of songs, and each one appears to be a step forward in his growth as a writer. Now, these songs are looking for a home with the right artist. While the themes have a common thread, there is a great deal of diversity in the styles that would fit a wide array of artists and genres.
